Nike 1948 Concept Store

Retail Design & Experience

Nike asked Slice to create a unique retail concept store to be the UK focal point of the global re-launch of Nike Sportswear in 2008. Initially only conceived as a ‘pop-up’ retail experience, the success of ‘1948’ means it is now a permanent fixture in London’s East End.

Working with Nike from the earliest stages of the project, our first task was to find the perfect location to build the store: it had to be somewhere unique. Slice found a car park in the heart of London’s Shoreditch, with the vision of converting it into an immersive retail experience for promoting and selling high-end sports inspired fashion apparel.

Slice manages 1948 as an ongoing project as both a store and a versatile brand experience space that has hosted high profile music & local community events, exhibitions, workshops and product launches.
